부부관계 만족도의 종단적 변화양상과 예측요인 - 성별 간 차이를 중심으로 -

초록

본 연구는 부부관계 만족도에 관한 기존의 선행연구들이 지니는 횡단적 분석의 한계를 극복하기 위하여 지역사회의 대표성이 인정되는 한국복지패널자료를 중심으로 기혼자의 부부관계 만족도의 종단적 변화와 더불어 이에 영향을 미치는 요인들이 성별에 따라 어떻게 다르게 나타나는지를 살펴보고자 하였다. 부부관계 만족도의 변화궤적과 이에 영향을 미치는 요인(우울, 자아존중감, 갈등대처방법)의 효과를 검토하기 위하여 잠재성장모형(Latent Growth Curve Modeling)을 통해 분석하였다. 주요 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 무조건부 모형을 통해 부부관계 만족도의 변화궤적을 검증한 결과, 연구 대상자의 부부관계 만족도가 시간이 지남에 따라 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 무조건부 모형의 다중집단분석결과, 시간의 흐름에 따라 남성이 여성보다 부부관계 만족도가 더 크게 감소하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 여성의 경우 우울, 자아존중감, 갈등대처방법이 여성의 부부관계 만족도의 변화에 통계적으로 유의하였으나, 남성의 경우 자아존중감과 갈등대처방법만이 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 통해 논의와 함의를 제시하였다.

Abstract

This study attempted to analyze the longitudinal changes of satisfaction with marital relationship and its predictors using the Korea Welfare Panel Data(KWPA) in order to overcome the limitations of cross-sectional analysis. Utilizing Latent Growth Curve Modeling, this study first examined the longitudinal change pattern of satisfaction with marital relationship. Secondly, this study also examined whether factors(depression, self-esteem, and coping style on conflict) associated with satisfaction with marital relationship had differential impact on growth rate based on gender. The main findings of this study were as follows. First, when the longitudinal change trajectory of satisfaction with marital relationship was examined, it was found that the satisfaction with marital relationship tended to decrease over time. Second,it was also found that men's satisfaction with marital relationship tended to decrease more rapidly over time compared to women . Third, while all the predictors of depression, self-esteem, and coping style on conflict were significant factors of longitudinal change of satisfaction with marital relationship for women, only self-esteem, and coping style on con flict were significant predictors of longitudinal change of satisfaction with marital relationship for women. Based on the study results, implications on research and practice were discussed.
