본 연구에서는 청소년기 자녀를 양육하는 저소득 가족을 지원하기 위한 목적으로 부모역할 프로그램을 개발하여 실시한 후 효과성을 검증하였다. 부모역할 프로그램 개발에는 저소득 청소년기 자녀와 어머니 대상 포커스집단 인터뷰 및 사회복지사 대상 설문조사를 통해 파악된 부모역할 관련 변화욕구에 대한 자료들과 강점관점 및 가족레질리언스 접근의 주요 개념들이 이론적 및 실증적 근거로 활용되었다. 개발된 프로그램은 실험집단 참여자 9명을 대상으로 총 6회기, 주 1회, 2시간씩 실시되었으며, 프로그램의 효과성 검증을 위해서는 유사실험설계 방법과 포커스집단 인터뷰를 사용한 양적 및 질적 평가를 실시하였다. 연구결과 개발된 프로그램은 10명으로 구성된 통제집단과의 사전・사후 점수비교에서 실험집단 참여자의 부모자녀 간 의사소통을 증진시키고, 부모의 자녀양육 스트레스를 경감시키는데 유의미한 효과가 있었으며, 질적 자료를 통해서는 자녀를 바라보는 부모의 관점변화, 자녀와의 의사소통 및 관계 증진, 그리고 자녀의 긍정적 행동 증진 및 부모자녀 간 친밀감이 향상되는 긍정적 성과가 있는 것으로 검증되었다. 이에 본 프로그램이 지역사회 기반 저소득 가족지원 프로그램으로서 갖는 실천적 함의에 관해 논의하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to develop a parenting program for low income families with adolescent children, and testify its effectiveness. 6 week parenting program was developed on the basis of strength perspective, family resilience approach, focus group interviews with middle school children and their parents from low income families, and survey of social workers who provide social support programs for low income families. 9 parents for experimental group and 10 parents for control group from low income families participated in this study. As the results of the effectiveness test of the parenting program, the experimental group showed significant enhancement of parent-child communication and significant decrease of parenting stress on the quantitative research analysis using quasi-experimental study and reported positive change of the perspective on their children, closer parent-child relationship, more use of effective communication skills and more enjoying family togetherness than they used to be on the qualitative research analysis using focus group interview and content analysis. In conclusion, strength as a family support program and adaptability of this parenting program in the community setting were discussed.
