영아기 돌봄유형에 따른 유아기 행동발달 변화 궤적 -성별 차이를 중심으로-

초록

본 연구는 영아기(만 0세∼2세) 보육서비스 이용여부가 이후 취학전 시기인 유아기(만 4∼6세) 의 문제행동 변화에 미치는 영향을 성별에 따라 종단적으로 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 한국아동패널 자료를 활용하여 영아기 돌봄유형에 따라 1,556명의 아동사례를 선별하고, 만 4세∼6세 유아들이 경험하는 행동발달과정을 내재화 문제와 외현화 문제로 나누어 분석하였으며 분석방법으로는 다층성장모형을 사용하였다. 분석결과 먼저, 아동의 내재화 문제와 외현화 문제는 시간의 흐름에 따라 점차 유의미하게 감소하였고, 돌봄유형은 외현화 문제에만 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 가정에서 지속적으로 양육받은 아동이 생애 초기에 가정양육 후 일정 시기 이후 보육시설을 이용한 아동보다 외현화 문제 수준이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 아동의 성별에 따라 문제행동 양상은 상이하게 나타났는데, 돌봄유형은 남아의 외현화 문제에서만 유의미한 차이를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 영아기 아동의 보육시설 이용여부를 선택하는 부모에게 아동의 발달과 관련한 정보를 제공할 수 있는 기초자료로 활용될 수 있다는 데에 의의가 있다.

Abstract

This study examined how children’s problem behaviors have changed over time, and how infancy (0-2 years old) care types have influenced on children’s problem behaviors. In order to looking at the changes in internalization and externalization problems of the children aged 4-6, total 1,556 cases were selected from the Panel Study of Korean Children and were analyzed by adopting a HLM individual growth model. As a result, it was found that the children’s behavior problem(both internalization and externalization problem) gradually decreased significantly as children growing up. In terms of types of care, children cared in child care center showed higher externalized problems than children in parental care. In addition, the problem behavior patterns were different according to the gender of the child, and the level of internalization problems was relatively high in the case of women and the externalization problems in the case of men. The care type showed a significant difference only in male externalization problems. These results are meaningful in that they can be used as basic data that can provide information related to the development of children to parents who choose whether to use childcare facilities for infancy children.
