신문의 뉴스프레임과 정치인 발언 보도태도 연구－미디어법 이슈를 중심으로

본 연구의 목적은 미디어법 이슈에 대한 국내 신문의 뉴스프레임 차이를 살펴보고, 각 신문사가 채택한 뉴스프레임 속에서 정치인의 발언이 어떤 방식으로 인용되는가를 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 2008년 12월과 2009년 7월에 조선일보, 중앙일보, 동아일보, 경향신문, 한겨레신문에 보도된 미디어법 관련 기사 494건을 대상으로 뉴스프레임 분석 그리고 참여관찰을 통해 정치인 발언의 보도과정에 대한 질적 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 조선일보, 중앙일보, 동아일보, 경향신문, 한겨레신문은 미디어법 관련 정치권과 언론계의 대립갈등 프레임을 중심으로 보도하고 있었다. 그러나 조선일보, 중앙일보, 동아일보의 경우 미디어산업 활성화 프레임 속에서 고용창출, 미디어산업 활성화를 위해 미디어법의 조속한 통과를 주장하는 뉴스프레임을 채택하고 있는 반면, 경향신문과 한겨레신문은 신문의 방송진출에 따른 여론독과점, 권력의 언론장악이 심화될 것이라는 점을 부각시키며 미디어법 개정을 반대하는 뉴스프레임을 강조하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 나아가 신문들은 김형오 국회의장, 박근혜 전 한나라당 대표 등 주요 정치인의 발언을 자사의 뉴스프레임에 부합하는 방향으로 해석한 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
News frame make reader think and understand the reality to the particular direction by selecting and emphasizing particular aspect of issue. Also politician’s speaking is selected and emphasized to the particular direction by the news frame of each newspaper companies. In December 2008, the media bill that licenses newspaper company to enter broadcasting market was proposed. From this moment to July, 2009 that media bill was passed, the ruling party and the opposition party have struggled to the extremes. On this ground, the thesis has researched the differences of the news frame by analyzing 494 articles of Chosun-ilbo, Joong-ilbo, Donga-ilbo, Kyunghyang newspaper, Hankyoreh newspaper related to media bill issue. And the participation observation is used to search how politician’s speaking is chosen and used by each newspaper company’s news frame to the same issue. For the results, all newspaper companies have their own interests to the particular issue and according to their own interests they have written completely different news frame even to the same issue like the media bill. Also newspaper intend to choose and interpret politician’s speaking to their own advantage and even make the necessary politician’s speaking regardless of the conservative newspaper and the progressive newspapers. Also, this study found out that which part of politician’s speaking becomes an article and which part doesn’t become an article by comparing to particular politician’s whole speaking and the politician’s speaking in the newspaper articles.
