아내구타 정당성 부여수준의 연령, 기간, 코호트 효과 분석

초록

본 연구는 아내구타 정당성 부여수준이 연령, 기간, 코호트별 어떠한 차이를 보이는지 살펴보기위하여 세계가치관조사(WVS)의 2005년, 2010년, 2018년 한국 자료에 연령-기간-코호트 교차분류임의효과모형(HAPC-CCREM)을 적용하였다. 이와 더불어, 연령, 기간, 코호트 효과를 고려하였을 때 아내구타 정당성 부여수준에 영향을 미치는 인구사회학적 특성을 살펴보았다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아내구타 정당성 수준에 영향을 미치는 연령 효과와 코호트 효과는 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 아내구타 정당성 부여수준이 2010년에는 유의하게 낮고 2018년에는 유의하게 높은 기간 효과가 나타났다. 셋째, 모든 조건이 동일한 경우 남성일 때,주관적 소득수준이 높을 때, 혼인관계에 있지 않을 때 아내구타 정당성 부여수준이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 아내구타 정당성 부여수준에 개입하기 위한 실천적 및 정책적 개입방안과 추후 연구방향을 제시하였다.

Abstract

This study applies an age-period-cohort cross-classification random effects model (HAPC-CCREM) to the 2005, 2010, and 2018 Korean data from the World Values Survey (WVS) to examine how the levels of justifying wife beating differ by age, period, and cohort. In addition, we examined the demographic characteristics that influence the levels of justifying wife beating when age, period, and cohort effects are taken into account. The main findings are as follows First, the age and cohort effects on the levels of justification of wife beating were not significant. Second, there was a significant period effect, with the justification level of wife beating being significantly lower in 2010 and significantly higher in 2018. Third, all else being equal, the justification level of wife beating was higher among men, those with higher subjective income, and those who are not in a marital relationship. Based on the findings of this study, we suggest practical and policy interventions to intervene in the justification level of wife beating.
