경계선 지적지능 아동청소년 자녀를 둔 어머니 양육 경험에 관한 연구

초록

본 연구의 목적은 경계선 지적지능 아동청소년 자녀를 둔 어머니들이 자녀 양육 생애주기 안에서 어떠한 삶의 영역, 전환, 적응 차원으로 나타나는지를 경험적 수준에서 분석하는데 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 4명의 연구참여자를 심층 면담하고 만델바움(Mandelbaum, 1973)의 생애사 분석 방법을 활용하였다. 분석결과 삶의 영역의 주제는 심리사회적 차원에서, 임신과 출산을 기다리던 아이지만 장애가 있을 수 있다는 병원진단으로 혼란이 가중되고, 아이 양육 문제에 따른 가족 갈등, 조급하기만 한 아이 치료 활동, 양육의 무게, 더 주목받는 자녀의 발달지체 문제란 의미로 드러낸다. 사회적 차원에서는 자녀의 발달지체를 빠르게 자각할 수 있도록 한 주변인의 진료 권유와 기관으로부터의 거부당하는 자녀, 부족한 국가지원, 열악한 교육과 돌봄 환경, 편견과 차별을 드러내는 세상이란 주제들이 나타나고 있다. 전환 차원은 어머니 자신의 사회적 관계, 생각과 행위의 변화를 드러내는 의미로 드러나며, 적응 차원은 자녀 양육의 긍정적 연속성을 지속할 수 있는 변화와 욕구의의미들로 나타나고 있다. 이를 토대로 본 연구는 사회복지 실천 현장에 필요한 몇 가지 논의점을 제언하였다.

Abstract

The study conducted in-depth interviews with four research participants who care with children and adolescents with borderline intellectual intelligence and analyzed them using the life history analysis method of Mandelbaum(1973). And the purpose of the study is to empirically analyze what level of life <Turning point> and <Adaptation> appears in their life. As a result of the study, at the psychosocial level in <The Dimension>, the child was waiting for pregnancy and childbirth but the hospital diagnosis that it may be a disability adds to the confusion, family conflicts due to child rearing problems, impatient child treatment activities, the weight of child rearing, and more It is appearing as a problem of developmental delay in children receiving attention. And at the social level, the themes of the world revealing prejudice and discrimination, rejection of children from institutions, insufficient government support, poor education and care environment, and invitations from people around them to quickly realize their children’s developmental delays are appearing. <The Turning point> is represented by the change in the mother’s thoughts and behaviors in social relations and <The Adaptation> is the meaning and desire for change to continue the positive continuity of child rearing. Based on this, several points of discussion necessary for the social welfare practice field were suggested.
