인격의 성숙과 성장으로서의 환상: 최인훈 희곡 「어디서 무엇이 되어 만나랴」를 중심으로

Abstract

Choi In-hun(최인훈)'s drama, <Where can we meet again with another faces(어디서 무엇이 되어 만나랴)> is rooted in the folk fable of <Foolish On-dal and Princess Pyeong-gang(바보 온달과 평강공주)>. In this drama, the playwright uses the intersection of the real world and the dream world. The heroine of this drama is Princess Pyeong-gang. She is known to the historical person who has lived in Kokuryeo Dynasty. But she can be esteemed to the fantastic person who repeatedly appeared in the folk tales. Sigmund Freud opened a window on the unconscious — where, he said, lust, rage and repression battle for supremacy — and changed the way we view ourselves. In this paper, we intended to analyze the princess' fantasies through the viewpoints of Sigmund Freud. She could be a innocent girl, female heroine or ambitious tyranny. She could be a foster child(enfant trouv&eacute;) or an illegitimate child(b&agrave;tard). Her story can be distorted by her own fantasy. People grow up gradually with his/her own fantasy. She dreams of her dreams according to her own desires. This drama of Choi's can be estimated to trace the unconsciousness of Princess Pyeong-gang.
