Abstract

Park In-Hwan left 13 pieces of poetry from 1946 to 1950's the korean civil war period. In these 13 poems, which includes experiences of liberation of that period, he expressed passionately his desire of pursuing the establishment of the nation state. He also pursued liberation of East Asian nations with the feeling of solidarity. A lot of East Asian nations had been dominated for ages by western countries, and many nations in East Asia were confronted with new colonial situation too. As a poet Park In-Hwan recognized such situations, which led him to resist against western imperialism with other East Asian people. His recognition ought to be valued in the specific view point of liberation which could be differentiated from other poet's point of view at that times. In this respect, his ideas, theme and view are important and useful even in these times. In accordance with those traits, Park In-hwan's words of poetry is evaluated as one of realism. But some people evaluate his world of poetry as one of modernism in general. But neither of these judge isn't right, so we need to revaluate his poems according to truth of his poetry.
