현대의 태몽담 연구 시론 – 6남매 태몽담을 중심으로 –

본 연구는 6남매 태몽담을 중심으로 현대 태몽담 구연의 특징 및 문화적 의의를 밝히기 위해 시도되었다. 이를 위해 그간 연구의 손길이 닿지 않은 현대 태몽담 연구의 필요성과 의의를 구비문학과 현대문화의 측면에서 논의하였다. 6남매 태몽담은 태아 상징물과의 접촉과 그에 대한 심리적 반응의 구조를 뚜렷이 보여준다는 특징이 있다. 또한 태아의 미래 위업에 대한 암시가 들어 있지 않으며 남아를 특별히 선호하지 않는다는 것도 본 태몽담의 특징이다. 구연과 관련해서 본 태몽담은 제보자가 작중 세계에 몰입하여 실감 나게 이야기를 전개한다는 특징이 있다. 이는 제보자가 태몽이라는 민속학적 세계에 익숙한 세대라는 점에 기인한다. 그리고 본 태몽담 구연은 후일담 내지 관련 자녀들의 현재 상황을 환기하는 데로 이야기판이 전개된다는 특징이 있다. 마지막으로 본 태몽담 구연 후에 여러 가지 태몽 관련 민속 현상에 대한 이야기가 활발히 오갔으며 이어 ‘달래강’이 구연되었다. 이런 점에서 태몽담 구연은 본격적인 이야기판을 여는 데도 큰 역할을 한다고 할 수 있다. 다음으로 6남매 태몽담을 비롯한 현대 태몽담과 그 후일담에는 제보자를 비롯해서 향유자들의 자식에 대한 기대, 더 나아가서 현대인들의 욕망이 투영되어 있다. 또한 태몽담에 반영되어 있는 민속학적인 사고 내지 전통적인 생활상의 측면에서 현대의 태몽담 향유는 특별하고 의미 있는 경험이라고 할 수 있다. 마지막으로 현대 태몽담 구연은 태몽담을 중심으로 여러 향유자들 간에 활발한 교류를 가능하게 하는데 이런 점에서 현대의 태몽담 구연은 공동체 문학으로서 구비문학의 본질에 접근해 있다고 할 수 있다.
Abstract
I studied on the characteristic and the cultural value of the oral narration of the dream of conception tales in modern society centering around the dream of conception tales of a brother and sister sixsome in essay. It is characteristic of the dream of conception tales of a brother and sister sixsome to represent clearly the structure of the touch with fetus symbols and emotional reaction. And it doesn't have the implications to a future great achievement of the fetus and the notion of preferring a son to a daughter. In the oral side of tales, it is characteristic of the dream of conception tales of a brother and sister sixsome to absorbed in the world in tales and the action takes place in a very convincing way by teller. In the second place the oral narration of these tales changes theirs direction to the reminiscences or the present conditions of related sons and daughters. In side of the cultural value in modern society, the expectation to sons and daughters of the participant including teller and the desire of contemporary man are reflected in the dream of conception tales in modern society and the reminiscences. And the participation in the dream of conception tales in modern society is special and significant experience in side of folklore-related thinking or traditional life reflected in the dream of conception tales. Lastly, the oral narration of these tales bring about lively communication among the participants centering around the dream of conception tales.
