Abstract

The network of the diaspora economic community can act as a bridge between the domestic industrial structure and overseas bases, and can greatly contribute to economic exchanges in various fields as well as overseas market development. In addition, the global human network of the diaspora economic community can be used positively in that Korea’s culture and sentiment are shared. In particular, in a situation where it is difficult to move abroad due to the corona pandemic and international military security conflicts that have occurred since 2020, the importance of a diaspora economic community that can be active overseas is being emphasized. However, despite the importance and advantages of the diaspora, studies on the economic community of the diaspora and the role of the economic community are insufficient in Korea. Therefore, this study aims to analyze previous studies related to the Diaspora Economic Community to identify that the Diaspora Economic Community is an important entity that can be a driving force for Korea’s new development, and implement academic and policy suggestions to achieve the development of Korea’s global network in the future. In addition, I would like to express the need for a comprehensive study that derives that the global human network is a major economic entity that can revitalize global business. As an analysis method tool for diaspora, we present a model that combines 3M (Message, Map, Manager) analysis with the global knowledge network model. In addition, after examining the limitations of diaspora-related policies, policy alternatives are suggested. In order to improve social perceptions, such as domestic public opinion and perceptions of compatriots, empirical research is needed in which members of society can agree on the value of the diaspora network. To this end, it is emphasized that the diaspora research methodology, which has been dealt with in a single academic dimension, needs to be improved into a realistic research methodology that incorporates more diverse academic theories.
