蘭茂《性天風月通玄記》用韻考 ―― 五百年前雲南方言一斑

“Xingtian Fengyue Tongxuanji”(《性天风月通玄记》) by a commoner called Lan Mao in Songming, Yunnan in the beginning of Ming Dynasty is the first drama work of Nanxi(南戏) in Yunnan province. It is of great importance in the research of the history of Yunnan dialect speech for the reason that It is written for the local people to read and sing. By studying the rhymes of this drama work, we summed up from it 12 groups of rhymes, which differ a lot from that of the author’s famous phonology work “Yun Lue Yi Tong”(《韵略易通》). Many rhyme phenomena in this work coincide with the contemporary Yunnan dialect. We deem that many phonological phenomena in the Yunnan dialect today already existed in the early Ming Dynasty.
