본 논문은 ‘전기’⋅‘아Q’⋅‘정신승리법’⋅‘혁명’이라는 4개의 키워드를 각 장의 연구 대상으로 삼아 해체주의 철학자 데리다의 양가성(double bind) 개념을 적용시키고 분석한 것이다. 본 연구를 통해 얻은 결론을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 노신이 ‘전기(傳記)’의 형식으로 쓴 <아Q정전>은 데리다의 양가성 이론을 적용하기에 가장 전형적인 텍스트이다. 둘째, ‘아Q’라는 이름이 지닌 상징성은 알파벳 문자 ‘Q’로 인해 의도적으로 획일적인 해석을 거부하고 있으며, 그에 대한 해석의 지평은 독자들에게 무한히 열려 있다. 셋째, ‘정신승리법’은 ‘승리’와 ‘패배’ 또는 ‘망각’처럼 상반되는 가치를 동시에 함축하는 어휘이다. ‘아Q’의 승리는 진정한 승리가 아니며, 그를 적대하고 죽음까지 몰아넣은 마을 사람들 또한 결코 승리자가 될 수 없다. ‘정신’은 항상 ‘神往’이라는 축에 의해 ‘승리’할 수도 있고, ‘패배’할 수도 있으며, 승리와 패배 자체를 ‘망각’하게 할 수도 있다. 넷째, 노신이 작품 속에 그린 ‘혁명’의 모습은 혁명의 대상과 주체의 경계가 모호한 양가성을 잘 보여주고 있다. 또한 그러한 양가성을 애써 분리시켜 한쪽만을 강요할 때 ‘아Q’와 같은 희생자들은 끊임없이 이어질 것이라는 경고도 포함하고 있다.
Abstract
This thesis applied and analyzed Jacques Derrida’s concept of double bind by using the four keywords ‘biography’, ‘Ah Q’, ‘spiritual victory’ and ‘revolution’ as the subjects of each chapter’s study. The conclusions obtained through this study are summarized as follows. First, <The true story of Ah-Q>, written by Lu-Xun in the form of ‘biography’, is the most exemplary text for applying Derrida’s ‘double bind’ theory. Second, the symbolicity of the name ‘Ah-Q’ is structurally rejecting a uniform interpretation due to ‘Q’, and the horizon of interpretation is infinitely open to readers. Third, ‘spiritual victory method’ is a vocabulary that simultaneously implies conflicting values such as ‘victory’ and ‘defeat’ or ‘forgetting’. The victory of ‘Ah-Q’ is not a real victory, and the villagers who oppose him and drive him to death can never be victorious. ‘Spirit’ can always be ‘victory’ by the axis of ‘神往’, ‘defeat’, and victory and defeat itself can be ‘forgotten’. Fourth, the image of ‘revolution’ drawn by Lu-Xun in his work shows the ambiguity that the boundary between the subject of the revolution and the subject is ambiguous. It also contains a warning that if the double bind is striving to separate and forcing only one side, victims such as ‘Ah-Q’ will continue.
