Abstract

As a result, "ethos of subjects (臣民) ' of the old order was maintained with the Emperor system. Therefore, by continuity for the monarchy style of emperor system could not wiping out the value system of prewar Emperor system, postwar Japan democracy have had limitations and problems. Specially, since the keeping of the Emperor system, it became a lack of Republican ideals of the virtues of the citizens’s autonomy against the monarchy. In this paper, it was called ‘the uniqueness of Japan.’ That democracy lacking of Republican ideals has the mechanism to suppress the autonomy for individual and excludes heterogeneity and also leads to a homogeneous compliance and conformity. In other words, the exclusion and repression of social minorities is that.
