Abstract

This study compares and analyzes the abstract of presentation and presentation based on the abstract, and observes various aspects that occur during the reproducing process of written language (primary data) into spoken language (secondary data), thus explaining the difference between spoken and written language. The abstract of the presentation and the presentation differs in the overall structure. If the whole structure of the presentation is divided into introduction, body and conclusion, the body part corresponds to the abstract of the presentation. Although the abstract of the presentation, whose objective is to deliver information efficiently, does not include interaction with the audience, the presentation, which has to deliver information by interacting with the audience, includes speech that considers the audience in the introductory and conclusion part. Also considering the vocabulary changes in the abstract of the presentation and the presentation, words that deliver the content such as nouns or stems of declinable words change slightly, whereas formal language such as postposition and ending of words change frequently. Content language remains the same to deliver the subject of the presentation, but formal language changes due to the usage of honorific endings considering the audience. In addition presentation includes discourse markers and expressions considering the audience, which are not found in the abstract of the presentation. In this respect, the abstract of the presentation and the presentation show the difference in language expression according to the different speech objective (efficient structuralization and deliverance of information), time (whether it is planned in advance or realized instantly) and so on.
