간접화행과 문법제약의 불규칙성에 대하여-한국어 질문문을 중심으로-

Abstract

This paper argues that some grammatical constraints lose the regularity in case a utterance is used only for indirect speech acts in some special contexts. With Korean interrogative sentences, it is examined that the irregular phenomenon sometimes derived from the force to devide the il-locutionary forces between indirect and direct speech acts of the utterance. Also with Kyeongsang Dialect sentences, especially concerned with interrogative sentence verb endings '-na/no?' and '-ga/go?', it is ascertained that the ending selection constraint rule might be broken when the sentence is used only for indirect speech acts different from the formal meaning of the sentence. This paper investigates that a few grammatical rules of Korean sentences lose the controlling power when the markedness constrains is overwhelming the faithfulness constraints to keep the formal syntactic rules. Furthermore it is revealed that during the interacting process of conversation, intentionally speakers often use the irregularity as a mark for indirect speech act of their utterance.
