『或る女』論 ―葉子と倉地の関係に関わる一考察―

『或る女』は主人公の葉子が破滅していく過程を描いた作品である。特に『或る女』の後編は、専ら葉子の破滅を描いている。だからと思われるが、『或る女』を破滅物語という指摘も多い。 この作品における葉子の破滅の原因は、婚約者である木村に向かって、アメリカ行きの船に乗った葉子に予期せぬ倉地という海男の船員と恋に落ちてしまったことである。船のなかで二人は好ましくない関係になり、葉子はアメリカの地を踏むこともなく、倉地と一緒に日本にそのまま戻ってしまうのである。 本稿は破滅の原因でもあった葉子と倉地との間に生じた恋、その恋に関することに視点をおいて論じたものである。なぜ葉子は木村ではなく、倉地と一緒になったのか。一体アメリカ行きの船のなかで何が起きたのかを、本稿で論じられている。そして、その原因を探るため、作品の登場人物である倉地を始め、田川夫人と岡について注目した。本稿を通して考察したことからみると、田川夫人と岡は葉子と倉地との好ましくない関係に進行するにおいて過大な影響があると見える。そして葉子は倉地にどのような魅力に惹かれたのか、倉地にいかなる魅力を見ていたかを、本稿を通して論じたのである。
Abstract
"A certain woman" is a work depicting the process of the hero Yoko's ruin.In particular, the second part of "A certain woman" exclusively describes the ruin of Yoko. I think that is why, but there are many indications that "a certain woman" is a ruined story. The cause of Yoko's ruin in this work is that he fell in love with the seaman, an unexpected Kurachi, to Yoko, who was on a ship bound for America, towards Kimura, who is his fiancee.In the ship, the two become an undesirable relationship, and Yoko returns to Japan with Kurauchi as it is without stepping on the ground in the United States. This article discusses the love that arose between Yoko, who was also the cause of the destruction, and the love, with a focus on that love. Why is Yoko not with Kimura, but with Kurachi? What happened in a ship bound for America is discussed in this paper. Then, in order to find out the cause, I started with Kurachi, the character of the work, and focused on Mrs. Tagawa and Oka. From the point of view through this paper, it appears that Mrs. Tagawa and Oka have an excessive influence in progressing to an unfavorable relationship between Yoko and Kurachi. And he discussed through this paper what sort of attraction Yoko was attracted to, and what attraction he saw in Kura.
