Abstract

This study has been quantitatively conducted on the basis of the corpus of the colloquial speeches preferred by students. For this study I have transcribed phonological structures of the colloquial speeches from the corpus containing over 100,000 words, the contents of which have then been analyzed by computer in accordance with an established analysis tool. To make a brief introduction, it has been disclosed that the most favored sound in Korean speech is CV type. In the study on the frequently used phonemes, I have conducted it in a way of comparison by separating 'choseomg (first sound), jungseoeng (middle sound), and jongseong (last sound)' into word head, word center, and word end respectively. The highest frequency of choseong (first sound) usage has appeared to follow the order of 'common sound light sound emphatic sound.' In the meantime, the strong sound of 'pp' (ㅃ) appears at the lowest end except when it is used at the head of a word. The frequency of middle sound usage has appeared in the order of 'mono vowel diphthong (j system, w system),' while appearing in the order of 'flat labial sound circle labial sound' in accordance with the shape of lips. In the last sound, the higher frequency has appeared on the nasal.
