공동체에 속한 개인은 다양한 가치관을 가진다. 이들은 서로의 차이로 인해 갈등을 경험하고, 대화를 통해 문제를 해결해 나간다. 이 과정에서 서로의 차이점 으로 싸움이 벌어지기도 하고 화해하기도 한다. 공동체는 저마다 추구하는 바가 다르기 때문에 한 개인에게만 맞출 수 없다. 개인은 이미 구성된 공동체에 삶을 위하기 때문에 거미줄처럼 연결된다. 이들은 타자와 구성적 공동체에 연관되 기 때문에 ‘연고적 자아’라고 불린다. 연고적 자아는 사회 구성원 전체에 향을 받고 경험의 총체로 형성된다. 하지만 오늘날 한국 사회에서 사람들은 연고적 자아로부터 벗어나려는 경향을 가진다. 이들은 특히 인터넷 매체와 스마트폰 발 달로 더욱 무연고적 자아를 추구하고 있다. 이런 사회를 고려하여 이 글은 개인 은 ‘도덕적 자아’로서의 개인이 되어야 하고, 공동체 전체의 정의를 위한 도덕 윤리의 필요성을 살펴볼 것이다. 또한 이 글은 공동체 안에서 타자의 얼굴에 나 타난 책임을 살펴볼 것이다. 우리는 타자의 얼굴을 항상 마주하고 있지만 실제로 는 이를 외면한다. 우리는 단순히 나와 구별되는 타자의 얼굴이 아니라 늘 우리 와 마주하는 타자의 얼굴을 통해 그들의 아픔을 살피게 될 것이다.
Abstract
Individuals belonging to the community have various values. They experience conflicts due to differences, and solve problems through dialogue. In this process, differences arise and conflicts occur. Communities can not be confined to one individual because they differ in their pursuit. Individuals are connected like webs because they live in a community that has already been established. These are referred to as ‘encumbered self’ because they are related to others and constitutive communities. The encumbered self is influenced by the whole society and formed as the whole of experience. But in our society, People have a tendency to get rid of encumbered self. Especially, they are pursuing more selflessness due to the development of internet media and smart phones. This article examines the need for individuals to be individuals as ‘moral self’ and the moral ethics for the definition of the whole community. Finally, this paper looks at the responsibilities that appear in ‘face of the Others’ in the community.
