이 연구는 연구의 유일한 참여자인 슈의 혼자놀이 체험에 관한 현상학적 탐구이다. 혼자놀이에 관한 기존의 연구들이 혼자놀이를 발달의 미성숙과 연결시킨데 반해 이 연구는 참여자 슈의 혼자놀이를 통해 혼자놀이 현상의 속성과 혼자놀이 체험이 유아에게 가지는 의미를 이해하는데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 슈의 혼자놀이 경험을 각각 시간, 공간, 관계, 몸의 네 가지 실존체를 통해 분석하였다. 연구결과 슈는 혼자놀이를 통해 재미와 차이를 생성하는 시간성, 놀이 속에서 새롭게 창조되는 공간, 타인의 시선으로부터 자유로운 신체, 창조적으로 모방되는 관계성을 경험하는 것으로 이해되었다. 또한 이와 같은 현상적 특징을 통해 참여자의 혼자놀이 경험의 의미를 살핌으로서 자유와 몰입이라는 혼자놀이의 근본적인 속성을 드러내었다. 이 연구를 통해 아이들의 놀이에 관한 또 다른 질문들을 생성하며, 우리 삶의 여러 현장에서 혼자 놀고 있는 “한 아이”를 이해는 데 도움을 얻을 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
This study is a phenomenological investigation on solitary play experienced by Sue, the only participant in this study. The purpose of this study is to understand the characteristic of solitary play experience and the meaning of solitary play to children in contrast to the view of solitary play as developmental immaturity by existing studies. For this reason, qualitative and phenomenological methods were employed in this study. I analyzed solitary play experience into four existentials which are time, space, relationship, and body. The result of the study shows the followings: Sue has experienced that the time generates interest and difference; the space is recreated in the play; the body is free from other's eyes, and the relationship is creatively imitated. In addition, the study revealed fundamental attributes of solitary play; freedom and immersion. Through this study, more questions on children's play can emerge and we can understand "only child" who plays alone in many fields of life.
