한국어 차별 언어 연구의 몇 가지 문제

In the short period of about 20 years, a lot of research on the language of discrimination in Korean has been conducted, but there are many points that are controversial or have not been dealt with in depth. In this paper, we discuss some important issues that we believe need to be considered anew regarding discriminatory language research. Chapter 2 examines the problem of classifying the types of discriminatory language, Chapter 3 examines the issue of who is the target of discriminatory languages, and Chapter 4 examines the causes of discriminatory language in Korean. The main analysis results are as follows. First, considering the situation in which age discrimination and appearance discrimination are getting worse in Korean society, and related new expressions of discrimination are increasing, it will be necessary to put the two into the basic types of Korean discriminatory language soon. Second, the target of discriminatory language is not limited to the minority, and the majority can also be the target of discriminatory language use. Third, the reason why there are many discriminatory expressions in Korean compared to other languages is the root cause of excessive competition and meritocracy in Korean society. In order to solve the problems of discriminatory language use and related to it, it is necessary to soften the overheated competitive culture of Korean society. We hope that steady research on discriminatory languages will continue more actively to make Korean language healthy and Korean speakers happy.
