존 카푸토의 포스트모던 해석학과 해석적 실천으로서의 ‘약한 신학’ 연구

이 논문에서 논자는 전통 해석학과는 그 성격을 달리하는 포스트모던 해석학 특징을 카푸토의 하이데거, 가다머, 데리다 해석을 통해 정리하고, 포스트모던 해석학의 한 해석적 실천으로서 카푸토의 ‘약한 신학’을 소개한다. 포스트모던 해석학에서 해석학은 하나의 참된 텍스트의 의미를 발견하는 방법에 한정되지 않는다. 해석은 끝이 없이 수행되는 것이다. 포스트모던 해석학에서는 해석의 외연이 인문학에만 한정되는 것이 아니라 인간적 삶의 전 역에 미친다고 본다. 또 포스트모던 해석학은 데리다 류의 해체주의도 해석학의 한 변형으로 받아들인 다. 따라서 포스트모던 해석학은 지금까지 우리가 등한시하거나 배제해왔던 국 외자, 외부인, 주변부의 관점을 중시하고. 동일성보다는 차이를 강조한다. 한편, 카푸토의 ‘약한 신학’에서 신은 사건으로 여겨지는 신이다. 역사의 수레바퀴에서 완성된 신이 아니라, 미래의 약속으로서 여겨지는 신, 창조성의 가능성으로서 여 겨지는 신, 해석적 창조성을 긍정하는 존재로서의 신이다. 이때 신의 이름은 해석 학적 명령에 대한 가주어로 기능하면서, 끝없이 재해석 가능한 것을 해석하라는 소리의 아이콘이 된다.
Abstract
This paper investigates John Caputo’s postmodern hermeneutics and his ‘weak theology.’ Postmodern hermeneutics defends the idea that there are no pure facts. Behind every interpretation lies another interpretation. Interpretation goes all the way down. Postmodern hermeneutics asserts the endless questionability(interpretability) of our lives. In postmodern hermeneutics, every act of understanding is already an interpretation, not only in the humanities but also in the natural sciences, not only in the academic disciplines but in everything we do in daily life. Postmodern hermeneutics is a radical hermeneutics. It means that we have to take the point of view of the outsiders, the ones whose views have been neglected or excluded. In Caputo’s weak theology, The god is not taken Devine Providence but as event. The god is taken as the promise of the future, as the very possibility of inventiveness. The name of God is a nickname for hope. The name of God is an envoy, an icon of call to interpret the endlessly reinterpretable.
