Abstract

The motivation to write this article has its roots in the observation that the Moroccans living in humble conditions in France are generally rejected by the French people. I was interested to know the reason why they go to live in France and their living conditions. France is country which has allowed foreign immigration for a long time. The country is composed of many races, cultures, and religions. French experienced waves of immigration in 4 cycles: the late 19th century, after World War I, after World War II, and after the 70s. Foreign labor power grew on a large scale due to a low native population and fast industrial growth. This labor power stabilized the French population and filled positions where French people hesitated to work. France, which is currently strong economically, owes much to the basis of the labor provided by low-paid foreign workers. France is a good study case concerning issues of immigration. First, France has along history of immigration compared to other countries in Europe. Second, Muslim immigrants promote policies for Muslim immigrants and are involved in variety of social conflicts. The third reason lies in the processes, methods, and crises of French national integration. This article begins with a brief introduction of the Morocco history with France and in particular, the history of France, where many Moroccans live, and the history of immigration. Secondly, I have reviewed the French immigration laws, and how the French government has dealt with illegal immigration and the present situation. On the next chapter, I have focused on the situation of the Moroccans who live from the agriculture and their living conditions. The last part of the article try to answer the question: Why there is an increasing hate to immigrants from French society especially in the recent years? Although this article only deals with a part of life in France for the Moroccans, framed in terms of location and time, I hope that the immigrants entering to Korea are happy and fulfilling their dreams to improve their lives.
