본 연구는 가족사별의 상실감 극복을 위한 미술치료 사례연구이다. 이 세상을 살아가노라면 누구나 사별의 상황을 접하게 된다. 삶에서 만나게 되는 죽음은 한편으로는 성장을 위한 통과의례가 된다. 그러나 과거와는 달리 장례를 마치고 나면 애도를 할 수 있는 시간들이 그리 충분히 주어지지 않는다. 이에 연구자는 의례가 사라진 현대의 유가족들에게 미술치료가 애도를 위한 의례공간이 될 수 있는지를 살펴보고자 하였다. 그와 함께 애도 과정에 걸림이 되는 것이 있다면 무엇인지, 정상적인 애도와 비정상적으로 지연되는 애도 사이에는 어떤 차이점이 있는지 등을 파악하고자 했다. 연구는 질적 연구로서 사례연구방법으로 실시되었다. 연구대상은 배우자 사별(A씨)과 친정어머니 사별(B씨)을 경험한 두 명의 중년기 여성이다. 연구는 1년 2~4개월 간 진행되었다. 전체 미술치료는 배우자 사별의 사례는 20회기, 또 모친 사별 사례는 49회기를 하였다. 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 미술치료가 애도를 위한 의례가 되어 사별의 상실감을 극복하는데 도움이 되었다. 둘째, 생애초기 애착의 정도는 사별 상실감 극복의 애도과정에도 영향을 미치고 있음을 알 수 있었다
Abstract
This study is a case study on Art Therapy for overcoming grief with the bereaved family. It is a fact that most of us will lose a loved one in our lifetime. Death will be the rite of passage for growth encountered in life. However, once the funeral has ended, there is not much time and endeavor to take care of the bereaved family with the grieving process. Therefore, it has been attempted to see if art therapy could provide an alternative ritual to modern people who have lost their ritual. It was also sought to identify the differences between normal grief and unresolved grief and what the obstacles are in the process, if there are any. This study was conducted by as case study of the qualitative research. These cases was consisted of two middle-aged women. One who had sudden death of her spouse(case A) and the other who was bereaved of her mother(case B). For both of two participants, the study was progressed for one year and 2~4months. During that period, the total of 20 art therapy sessions were conducted for the case A, and 49 art therapy sessions were given for the case B. Below are the results of the studies. First, art-therapy as a grieving ritual help to overcome the loss of bereavement. Second, it is proven that the different degrees of affection during early childhood have an influence on the grieving process.
