Feng Meng Long had compiled a number of famous short story-teller scripts anthologies. As the background, theme, and topic of story-teller scripts anthology differed, Feng Meng Long arranged the titles in antithesis. Some scholars opined that the titles of ‘San yan’ which were arranged in antithesis were only a mimic of a long piece of Chapter novels, and there was no special meaning behind. However if we analyse the titles in details, we will discover that the antithesis was arranged in a sophisticated way. The titles in antithesis were meticulous arrangements by Feng Meng Long. This article aims at exploring the sophisticated and meaningful arrangement of titles in antithesis by Feng Meng Long from examples in ‘Gujin Xiaoshuo’. Such an arrangement will not only alter, but also enrich the plot of the anthologies.
Abstract
