Notice On Chinse Grammar was written by German Missionary Karl Friedrich Gützlaff.in 1842. Most of Chinese Grammar books in 17th and 18th centuries were still under Latin Grammar’s influence, therefore they did not reflect Chinese well. However, the analysis of Notice On Chinse Grammar in many aspect, such as passive construction, causative construction, ba-construction, three type of complement, tense-aspect, was a new approach from a new point which had a pivotal role in 19th Chinese grammatical history. Although this book has an important position among western missionaries who visit China in nineteen centuries, but nobody pay attention to this grammar book today, therefore we have to revaluate this book and realize that this grammar book has undeniable worth.

Notice On Chinse Grammar was written by German Missionary Karl Friedrich Gützlaff.in 1842. Most of Chinese Grammar books in 17th and 18th centuries were still under Latin Grammar’s influence, therefore they did not reflect Chinese well.
