Abstract

This paper mainly discussed on the publication and communication of the classical Chinese notes Jian Deng Xin Hua and Liao Zhai Zhi Yi..During the Ming and Qing Dynasties and the Choson Dynasty, and analyzes the differences in the acceptance of the two novels at China and abroad as well as the reasons for such differences. Jian Deng Xin Hua was popular in the Ming dynasty and faded out after nearly two hundred years, but in foreign countries such as Korea and Japan was completely different. On the contrary, Liao Zhai Zhi Yi in China was popular once printed, , but in the foreign countries, Liao Zhai Zhi Yi was broad interpretated and researched after 20th century. There are three reasons for this phenomenon. First, there was the change of cultural policy. The rulers of the Ming Dynasty did not impose much punishment on the novel, so the novel was widely spread among the people, and this made it possible for overseas publication and dissemination. In the Qing Dynasty, the power of banning and destroying the forbid novels from the rulers was obviously strengthened. Moreover, the strict and clear laws and regulations were made on the punishment measures for who sold the forbid novels, which became the resistance to the spread of Liao Zhai Zhi Yi to other countries. Secondly, there is a big change of social background. Jian Deng Xin Hua was created when China was at the center of the East Asian, benefiting from the detente of diplomatic relations between the Ming Dynasty and the Choson Dynasty, which was also relatively open to China's cultural import policy. Unlike the Ming Dynasty, the Choson dynasty had tense diplomatic relations with the Qing Dynasty. Liao Zhai Zhi Yi was written in the Qing Dynasty. At that time, the Choson Dynasty advocated Confucian orthodoxy in culture and imposed a injunction on the importation of Chinese novels into the Choson. Finally, it is the change of the audience. In the early period of the Choson Dynasty, the readers of ancient Chinese novels were mainly the upper class with a certain quality of Chinese language, which provided the audience for Jian Deng Xin Hua . After entering the 19th century, with the development of commodity economy and publishing industry, the number of reading groups in the Choson Dynasty expanded and developed to the civilian class, which made Liao Zhai Zhi Yi losed its appeal and readership. After the 20th century, Liao Zhai Zhi Yi has once again aroused great interest in the research in the world. The two novel‘s differently developong suggests that the literary which has a high level of literary and aesthetic value is assuredly reviewed and cherished by people.
