Abstract

This study attempted to understand the current status of library e-book services and the perception of the publishing industry, which have recently been issues between the publishing industry and the library relationship. To this end, issues related to library e-book services were identified and analyzed within the publishing ecosystem, and a win-win plan study was conducted for library e-book services by grasping the publishing industry's perception of e-book service-related issues using interview methods. As a result, differences in basic perceptions of library e-book services, differences in perception by publisher size and genre, the need to discuss Public Lending Rights(PLR), cooperation for coexistence of publishing industry and the library relations, expansion of government book-related resources and changes in library policies. The limitations of the current study, and suggestions and implications for future studies were discussed.
