로컬푸드운동을 사회적경제 생태계로 확장하기 - 농식품시티즌십을 중심으로

초록

이 논문은 로컬푸드운동의 발전전략을 사회적경제 생태계와의 연계를 확장하는 데서 찾고, 로컬푸드운동의 영역을 확장하는 사회화 전략으로 농식품시티즌십의 역할을 검토하였다. 이를 위해 로컬푸드운동과 사회적경제에 대한 시민-소비자들의 수요와 지지도를 측정하여 로컬푸드운동과 사회적경제의 상호 연계성과 농식품시티즌십이 로컬푸드운동을 사회적경제 생태계로 확장시키는 매개역할의 가능성을 경험적 분석을 통해 파악하고자 했다. 경험적 분석자료는 2015년 『한국인의 식습관과 대안먹거리 인식조사』를 통해 수집된 1,300명에 대한 서베이조사를 활용하였다. 로컬푸드운동, 농식품시티즌십, 사회적경제의 관계를 다중회귀분석 등의 통계적 방법을 활용해 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 로컬푸드운동에 참여할수록 사회적경제를 지지하는 경향이 높다는 결과가 나타남으로써 양자의 상관성을 경험적으로 확인하였다. 둘째, 로컬푸드운동을 체험하는 것은 농식품시티즌십을 함양하는데 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 사실을 발견하였다. 셋째, 농식품시티즌십이 높은 소비자일수록 사회적경제를 지지하는 경향이 높다는 사실도 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 분석되었다. 이를 통해 로컬푸드운동은 농식품시티즌십의 작동을 통해서 사회적경제 생태계로 발전할 수 있는 가능성을 지닌다고 추론할 수 있다. 로컬푸드운동을 사회적경제 생태계를 발전시키는 매개전략으로 농식품시티즌십의 역할에 주목할 필요가 있다. 농식품의 생산에서 소비에 걸친 관계망과 집합적 실천을 바탕으로 기존의 농식품 시장경제 체계를 변혁시키는 농식품시티즌십이 적극적으로 조직됨으로써 로컬푸드운동과 사회적경제는 대안운동으로 확고히 뿌리내릴 수 있다.

Abstract

This article aims to explore the development strategy of local food movement to expand linkage with social economy ecosystem, and examines the role of agri-food citizenship as socialization strategy beyond the boundary of local food movement. For this purpose, it measured citizen-consumer's support for local food movement and social economy movement and examined the mutual linkage between the two, and analyzed empirically the role of agri-food citizenship as a linkage strategy of local food movement to social economy ecosystem. As an empirical analysis, the paper used a survey data of 1,300 people collected in 2015. Local food movement, agri-food citizenship, and social economy were analyzed through multiple regression analysis. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, we found empirically that the more the citizen consumers prefer to the local food movement, the higher the tendency to support the social economy. Second, it showed that experiencing the local food movement has a positive effect on cultivating agri-food citizenship. Third, it is analyzed that the higher the agri-food citizenship, the higher the tendency to support the social economy is statistically significant. This suggests that the local food movement has the potential to develop into a social economy ecosystem through the operation of agri-food citizenship. Based on the results of this analysis, it is necessary to pay attention to the role of agri-food citizenship as an intermediary strategy to expand the local food movement to the social economic ecosystem. The local food movement and the social economy can be firmly rooted in the alternative movement when the agri-food citizenship that transforms the existing agri-food market economy system based on the relationship network and collective practice is actively organized.
