음주동기 유형이 음주문제에 미치는 영향 - 지역사회 일반 성인을 중심으로 -

초록

본 연구는 음주동기 유형에 따라 개인의 음주문제 정도가 달라질 것이라는 음주동기모형에 기초하여 지역사회 일반 성인의 대처동기, 사교동기, 고양동기, 동조동기 등 4개의 음주동기 유형이 음주문제에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 한 지역사회 일반 성인 569명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하고 AUDIT 선별 검사를 통해 일반군과 문제음주군을 선별한 후 로지스틱 회귀분석을 통해 자료를 분석하였다. 분석 결과 4개의 음주동기 중 대처동기와 사교동기가 음주문제에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 반면, 고양동기와 동조동기는 음주문제에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 사교동기와 관련하여 서구와 다른 한국 성인의 집단적 음주문화를 반영하는 것으로 서구의 선행 연구들과는 다른 결과를 보여준다. 이러한 결과는 지역사회 음주문제 예방 프로그램에서 음주자의 음주동기 유형을 심도있게 탐색하여 음주문제 고위험 집단의 조기 선별과 음주동기 변화를 위한 인지적 개입 및 음주문화 개선을 위한 환경적 개입이 필요함을 시사한다.

Abstract

This study analysed the effect of 4 drinking motives on alcohol problem of adult population in a community, based on the model that individual drinking problems would vary with his drinking motives. This study categorized 569 adults in a community into 2 groups(normal and problematic drinking group) according to AUDIT(Alcohol Use Disorder Identification Test). Logistic regression was employed for analysis. Results showed that coping and social motives among 4 drinking motives were statistically significant, but enhancement and conformity motives were not. Especially, the finding that social motives influenced the likelihood of alcohol problem is interesting because it shows the Korean unique drinking culture. These findings suggest that it be necessary for investigating the drinking motives of adult in order to prevent individual drinking problems and implementing prevention and publicity program to adjust their drinking motives and negative drinking culture in Korea. This finding can provide theoretical and practical implication for social workers and professionals in community alcohol counseling centers.
