대학생들의 음주동기에 영향을 미치는 심리사회적 변인들: 우울, 성인애착, 대인관계능력을 중심으로

초록

본 연구는 음주문제에 중요한 영향을 미친다고 알려진 음주동기(사교동기, 고양동기, 대처동기, 동조동기)에 심리사회적 변인들(우울, 성인애착, 대인관계능력)이 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 하였다. 본 연구에는 학부생, 대학원생 358명(남학생 252명, 여학생 106명)이 참여하였다. 심리사회적 변인들이 음주동기에 미치는 영향을 살펴보기 위해 위계적 회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 사교동기에 유의한 영향을 주는 변인은 애착불안, 애착회피, 처음 관계 맺기, 자기 노출로 나타났고, 고양동기에 영향을 주는 변인은 성별, 애착불안, 대인갈등 다루기로 나타났고, 대처동기에 영향을 주는 변인은 우울, 애착불안, 자기 노출로 나타났고, 동조동기를 유의하게 예측하는 변인은 우울, 애착불안, 처음 관계 맺기, 대인갈등 다루기로 나타났다. 또한 음주문제에 미치는 음주동기의 영향력을 확인하기 위해 인구통계학적 변인, 음주동기, 심리사회적 변인들을 예측변인으로, 음주문제를 종속변인으로 하여 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였을 때 음주문제를 유의미하게 예측하는 변인은 사교동기, 고양동기, 대처동기로 나타났고, 우울, 성인애착, 대인관계 능력은 음주문제를 직접적으로 예측하지 않았다. 이 결과를 통해서 심리사회적 변인이 각각의 음주동기에 미치는 영향이 다를 뿐만 아니라 음주동기가 대학생들의 음주문제를 예측하고, 개입하는데 중요함을 다시 한 번 확인할 수 있었다. 마지막으로 본 연구가 상담현장에서 갖는 함의와 후속연구를 위한 제언을 논하였다.

Abstract

The present study investigated the effects of depression, adult attachment, and interpersonal competency on college students' drinking motives. A total of 358 undergraduate and graduate students (252 men and 106 women) participated in this study. Hierarchical multiple regressions were performed to analyze data. The results indicated that social motive was significantly predicted by anxious attachment, avoidant attachment, initiating relationships, and self-disclosure. Enhancement motive was significantly predicted by gender, anxious attachment, and dealing with interpersonal conflicts. Coping motive was predicted by depression, anxious attachment, and self-disclosure. Conformity motive was predicted by depression, anxious attachment, initiating relationships, and dealing with interpersonal conflicts. In addition, college students' drinking problems were significantly predicted by social motive, enhancement motive, and coping motive, but not by depression, adult attachment, and interpersonal competency. Implications for the counseling profession and future research are discussed.
