자산이 가족갈등수준에 미치는 영향: 우울의 매개효과를 중심으로

초록

본 연구의 목적은 가족갈등과 관련하여 기존의 연구들에서 논의되지 않았던 자산이 가족갈등 수준에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고, 더 나아가 우울이 이러한 관계를 매개하는지를 살펴보는 데에 있다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위해서 한국복지패널(Korean Welfare Panel Study)의 12차년도(2017년) 자료 중 가구주용 데이터와 가구원용 데이터를 활용하여 분석하였다. 총 5,354가구주를 분석대상으로 하여 Hayes가 개발한 SPSS PROCESS Macro를 활용하여 부트스트래핑(bootstrapping)을 통해 매개효과의 유의미성을 살펴보았다. 연구결과 첫째, 자산이 가족갈등에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나 자산이 적을수록 가족갈등수준이 증가하는 직접 효과가 확인되었다. 둘째, 자산이 우울에 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나 자산이 적을수록 우울이 증가하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 우울이 자산과 가족갈등수준 사이에서 부분매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 자산이 가족갈등수준에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것을 넘어서 자산이 낮을수록 우울이 증가하고, 우울이 증가할수록 가족갈등수준이 높아진다는 것을 보여주고 있다. 이러한 연구결과를 통한 사회복지적 함의는 다음과같다. 첫째, 자산의 증대를 추구하는 자산형성지원제도의 확대를 통해서 우울과 가족갈등 수준을 낮출 필요가 있다. 서울시의 희망플러스통장사업과 같은 제도를 더욱 보완 개선하여 안정된 자산을 형성할 수 있도록 하는 사업들이 전국적으로 더욱 확대되어야 한다. 둘째, 자산과 가족갈등수준에는 우울이라는 가족구성원의 심리적 요인이 매우 중요하게 영향을 미치기 때문에 실업, 이혼 등으로 인해 경제적 위기상태에 있는 가족을 중심으로 심리, 정서적인 상담을 병행해야 할 것이다.

Abstract

This study aims to examine asset effects on family conflicts and the mediating effect of depression between assets and family conflicts. For these research questions, this study uses the 12th wave of Korean Welfare Panel Study (KWPS). A sample size is 5,354 households. To test the mediating effect, this study uses SPSS PROCESS Macro which utilizes a bootstrapping method. Key findings are summarized as follows: First, assets were found to have negative impacts on family conflicts. Second, we found that assets have negative impacts on depression. Third, we found a partial mediation effect of depression on the relationship between assets and family conflicts. These findings support expansion of assetbased programs targeting disadvantaged populations. In addition, this study suggests that psychological support programs for families with diverse problems are needed.
