Abstract
Social Participation focuses on practicing social role as an indicator of quality of life. In order to maximize social participation, it is valuable to have an intergrated social service system which provides not only medical service focusing on increasing physical function and psychosical service that increases social roles in a new environment. Therefore this research examines effects of social participation using multiple group analysis based on Structural Equation Model, which looked into the differences between two groups: 185 medical service group and 201 psychosocial service group. The major findings of Multi-group analysis to verify the difference between two groups was that the effect of daily hassel on social participation was statistically significant only for the medical group at the scalar variance model compare to the basic model. The results of this study indicates that the intergrated social systems including medical, public health and welfare systems have to be developed actively. It will allow the formation of social service-providing infrastructure within the easily accessible area for the elderly with stroke-related disability, which will help them to receive various psycho-social services. Also long term care insurance has to not only support increasing physical function but also consider the role of case manager in order to be able to provide various psychosocial services.
