晦谷 權春蘭의「太極統體人事圖」연구-『進學圖』의 爲己之學 방법론 설계와 관련하여

Abstract

This is a study on the diagram and its explanation of Tae-geuk-tong-che-in-sa-do(太極統體人事圖, Taiji as the Ultimate includes all the human things) which is the first in all 26 diagrams of Hoegok(晦谷) Kwon Chun lan(權春蘭)'s Jin-hak-do(進學圖, a book of diagrams and explanations for promoting one's learning). The method of this syudy relies on at least three ways. The first is the comparative research of his diagram to others that include the concept of Taegeuk(Taiji) in their titles and show various variant in composition of shape or theme. The second is the analysis on his diagram and its explanation and the discussion about the specialities and significance of it. Especially discussed is about the role and significant phase of the diagram Tae-geuk-tong-che-in-sa-do as the first of all diagrams of the Jin-hak-do, if the book Jin-hak-do holds on the whole a design for the methodology pointing to learning to become a sage. The remarks of the conclusion are as follow: firstly the theme of the diagram Tae-geuk-tong-che-in-sa-do is very special and unique through the whole history of the Confucianism in the Chosun Dynasty in the transformation and application of original diagram of taiji(太極圖, Taijitu) made by Zhou Dun Yi(周敦頤) for the sake of promotion of the learning to become a Sage, secondly the diagram shows that the general principles of his design for the learning to become a Sage are constructed based on the viewpoint of the mind learning stressed by Yi Hwang(李滉), and finally viewing from the aspects of the diagram's shape makes it an elaborated representation that integrates into one systematic process his way of thinking to signify the taegeuk as the root metaphor, his faith in the knowledge deduced from the metaphor, and the process and contents of the main haman affairs. Any other scholar's diagram at his time cannot show the elaborateness and creativity as his.
