Abstract

The analysis of 「Gwanŭi」 in Yeoheon Jang hyunkwang shows that Yeoheon's Yehak was what is aimed to completely recover the style of Yukrye in Korye (ancient courtesy). On top of this, his mind that admits sisongnye is what originated from 'generous mind' that tries to change little by little while allowing the customs of the age not to be astonished, other than being 'impatient mind' that tries to change by stubbornly applying the principle of Korye regardless of the customs of the age. What needs to be mentioned in terms of the characteristic of Yeoheon's Yehak, is that the attitude of respect toward T’oegye is discovered here and there. This attitude is confirmed even in the fact that is examining critically Sangnyepiyo. As it is the well-known fact, it is because Sangnyepiyo has the characteristic as the typical result of Yehak in Kiho that surpasses T’oegye's Yehak. It can be evaluated that Yeoheon's Yehak has the explicit characteristic, which seeks to express the attitude of respect toward T’oegye in light of Yehak, together with the intention to realize the goal called the inclination toward Korye, with the generous mind other than the impatient mind.
