商·周 시기 神人관계의 구도와 그 민족적·문화적 배경에 관한 고찰

본 논문은 『禮記』 「表記」편에 나타난 하·상·주 삼대의 신인관계에 대한 언급에서 출발하여, 商·周의 신인관계의 구도를 그 민족적·문화적 배경에서 살펴보고자 한다. 이를 위해 우선, 하·은·주 三代의 관계를 어떻게 보아야 할지 살펴보고자 한다. 그리고 商代의 신인관계의 구도를 上帝와 조상신의 관계, 백색문화와 태양 숭배·새 토템을 중심으로 논의하고자 한다. 또한 周代의 신인관계의 구도를 天과 인간의 관계, 周族의 天과 山岳 숭배를 중심으로 논의하고자 한다. 이를 통해 신과 조상신, 인간계와 맞닿아 있거나 때론 일치되기도 했던 상대 사유의 특징을 살펴볼 수 있는 단서와 天이 인간에게 영향을 미치긴 하지만 상대에 비해 천, 조상신과 인간이 그 거주하는 영역 등에 있어서 일정한 거리를 두고 있는 것으로 보이는 주대 사유의 특징을 살펴볼 수 있는 단서를 찾아보고자 한다.
Abstract
This paper explores the relationships of divinity and humanity and their ethnic and cultural backgrounds in the Shang 商 and Zhou 周 dynasties, starting from a mention regarding the relationships of divinity and humanity in the Xia 夏, Shang and Zhou dynasties shown in the “Biao Ji 表記” of the Liji 禮記. To do this, this paper discusses how to understand the relationships between the Xia Shang and Zhou, called the Three Dynasties. The relationship between divinity and humanity in the Shang dynasty can be understood by analyzing the relationship between Shangdi 上帝 and ancestor spirits, sun worship, and bird totems. The relationship between divinity and humanity in Zhou dynasty can be also studied by searching the relationship between Tian 天 and humanity, Tian and mountain worship. From this, this paper explores the characteristics of Shang people’s thoughts that gods and ancestor spirits were deeply related with human beings and the features of Zhou people’s thoughts that Tian and ancestor spirits were kept away from humans, compared to Shang people.
