본 연구는 사회적 관계 서비스 이용이 개인의 부정적 정서 상태에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고 있다. 본 연구의 분석결과에 따르면 모바일 기기를 통한 사회적 관계 서비스 이용은 개인의 부정적 정서 상태를 유의미하게 증가시키는 것으로 나타나고 있다. 하지만 사회적 관계 서비스 이용, 네트워킹, 사회참여, 경제활동 변수를 모두 포함시켰을 때에는 사회참여와 경제활동만이 개인의 부정적 정서 상태에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 사회적 관계 서비스 이용자들이 네트워킹과 경제활동 더 많이 할수록 개인의 부정적 정서 상태를 유의미하게 감소시키는 것으로 나타났다. 뿐만 아니라 이런 조절변수의 영향은 연령별로 다르게 나타나고 있다. 이런 본 연구의 분석결과는 모바일기기를 통한 사회적 관계 서비스 이용이 개인의 정서적 상태에 어떤 영향을 미치는지와 이를 감소시키기 위한 방법을 제시하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
Abstract
This study investigated the associations between the use of social network services and individual’s negative emotional status. Our results show that use of mobile social network services is significantly associated with individual’s negative emotional status. In addition, use-types of social network services’ matters. When the mobile social network services were used for networking and for economic activities, we found negative associations between the use of social network services and negative emotional status. That is, when users of social network services used these technologies for networking and economic activities, it actually enhances emotional status of users. In addition, these associations are observed to be different in diverse age groups. The implication of the study is in empirically finding the association between the use of mobile social network services, and in suggesting a strategy to decrease the negative impacts from use of social network services.
