西陂柳僖의 『春秋』 四傳에 대한 비판적 관점 — 『春秋四傳刪誤說』을 중심으로 —

Abstract

This paper is to examine Chunqiusajeonsanoseol of 19-century Joseon scholar Seopa Ryu Hee. What is remarkable on this book is that it criticizes and presents arguments on the entire interpretation of Sajeon in earnest, a representative Chunqiu commentary in the field of Chunqiu study during the Joseon Dynasty. Seopa quotes misunderstood or misinterpreted scriptures on Sajeon and intensively criticizes them and then make arguments with rational basis and grounds. It has significant research value considering that it is a writing in a distinctive form which cannot be found among other conventional articles on Chunqiu. This book consists of the introduction that comprehensively deals with the entire Sajeon and the main body to find concrete errors on Sajeon’s interpretations and make corresponding arguments. With the introduction as its research target, this paper covers what kind of viewpoint Seopa applies to approach maladies in each of Sajeon and consequent harmful effect.
