북중 국경무역의 추이 분석과 정책 방안

Abstract

This paper aims to analyse the border trade betweenNorthKorea and China and to suggest revitalizing strategies for an economic cooperation in the east-northern Asia, bymeans of examining the current trade actualities at the level of Chinese provinces. The trade between North Korea and China is too much concentrated on some items round the three provinces in the east-nothern area of China. In particular, the export of North Korea including themineral fuels,mineral oils, bituminous substances andmineralwaxes gets to 40%of the amount. Even though the trade amount betweenNorthKorea and China is small and highly fluctuating due to politico-diplomatic issues, it’s necessary to revitalize the trade betweenNorth Korea and China and the trade South Korea and China so as to an economic balance development and a regional community development in the east-northern Asia. The border trade between North Korea and China should be diversified in the trade items and methods. By revitalizing the border trade, Chinawill be able to enlarge foreign market through increasing the demand of industrial production and consumption in North Korea. In long term, China could make an effective impacts to the industry structure change of North Korea. For North Korea, by revitalizing the border trade, it’s available to get the importantmotifs to change the production systemand the industry structure for an economic reformand openness in long term.
