초록
This paper investigates the changing relations between Indonesian state and capital focusing on the organizational formation of the IBC (International Business Chamber of Indonesia) after democratization. Indonesian capitalism developed under the state incubating. The capitalists’ interests could be gained individually through the patronage system linked with politico-bureaucrats in Soeharto's Indonesia. However, in the early 2000s, it was seen clearly that the foreign capitalists formed a transnational solidarity network or ‘united business front’, and started to take actions collectively. The association of Korean capitalists is also playing vital role for capitalists' solidarity. These activities performed carefully but dynamically could make some influences to the power balance between state and capital in general. The capitalists' collective actions could be accounted as a socio-economic profile of the democratic Indonesia.
