Abstract

The objective of this study is to suggest the problems and complementations of Korean curriculums by comparatively analyzing the differences in the curriculums of musical-relevant departments of Korea, China, and Japan. In order to compare the domesticand foreign curriculums, this study researched the curriculums of musical-relevant departments in four-year-course collages and 2/3-year-course collages, and then chose four musical-related schools in China and another four colleges in Japan for researching the contents of dance curriculums. In the results, the comparative analysis on the curriculums of each country drew the conclusions that it would be necessary to have the curriculum as follows for the development of Korean musical. First, it would be needed to have the characteristic style of Korea containing the national spirit by inheriting the tradition of Korea. Second, it would be necessary to educate the modern dance for the free expression of body. Third, for the independent development of Korean contents, the creation course should be activated and also the choreography-relevant course should be increased. Fourth, it would be needed to have the programs connected between college and theater company. The students who study the musical go through difficulties in handling all the acting, singing, and dancing. In the area where it is tough to study just one thing, it is certainly very difficult to satisfy all three things at the same time. Also, in order to create the original Korean-style musicals that cannot be imitated, the college dance curriculum is very important.
