This study is designed to analyze and appraise the perceived importance of various competence factors by surveying korean cabin crews in foreign airlines and their efforts to develop and utilize personal abilities at work. To that end, this study used 47 general categories of competence traits and narrowed the categories down to 11 specific criteria such as personal traits, ability to handle various situations, professional characteristics, teamwork and cooperation, self-management, understanding and consideration of others, physical traits, professional knowledge, positive “can- do” attitude, language competence and personal globalization scale, and customer-oriented approach.. Then through Importance Performance Analysis (IPA), each subject’s perceived importance of those competence factors in the workplace were measured.

Abstract
