고령화 지역의 Aging in Place에 영향을 주는 조건분석을 통한 정책방향 탐색

Searching for Policy Orientation By the Analysis of Factors affecting Aging in Place in the Aging Community

초록

The rapid aging society requires welfare programs and services corresponding to complex and diverse needs of the elderly. Aging- in-place policy is known as a key strategy in dealing with and meeting the needs of the elderly. This study proposes two main purposes. Firstly, the study tries to seek out the factor which affects the elderly to continuously live in the residential area or within the community. Then, it strives to suggest policy orientations concerning the elderly living in the residential area or within the community based on the analysis. Survey was conducted by the elderly over sixty, living in the metropolitan city, the medium-sized city, and the agricultural village. Five independent and six control variables are used in analysis which affects Aging-in-place. The major findings are as follows: First regarding convenience and safety when walking or using transportations, condition for moving and social interactions with younger generation mainly affected Aging-in-place. Second, concerning control variables, owing house primarily affected Aging-in-place. Specifying in cities, medium-sized city had a positive influence on Aging in Place compared to the metropolitan city. Since Local government initiated Age-in-place policy ,or so called “government-led community building project”, can not be sustained without government support, the elderly and local residents will have to voluntary participate in Aging-in-place which will lead to community care system and social participation. and Also we searched for the alternatives for the model of Aging-in-Place, which is called NORC, Villages model.
