대·중소기업간 거래관계에서 연구개발투자가 일자리에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 2006∼2016년 한국기업데이터(주)와 통계청의 기업활동조사를 이용하여 제조업 분야 중소기업을 대상으로 R&D가 일자리에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 중소기업을 선도기업 1∼2차협력기업과 비협력기업으로 나누어 비교 분석하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 전체협력기업과 비협력기업에 대한 분석결과를 살펴보면, 협력기업의 경우 장·단기에 걸쳐 R&D가 일자리에 미치는 긍정적인 영향이 존재하였고, 비협력기업의 경우에도 R&D가 일자리에 미치는 긍정적 장기영향이 존재하였다. 둘째, 협력기업 차수별 분석결과를 보면, 1·2차협력기업 모두에서 규모효과가 존재하여 R&D가 증가함에 따라 일자리가 체증하는 모습을 나타내었다. 그렇지만, 1차협력기업의 경우 일자리에 미치는 긍정적 장기영향이 존재했지만, 2차협력기업의 경우 일자리에 미치는 장기영향은 긍정적이지도 부정적이지도 않았다. 셋째, 기술수준별 분석 결과를 살펴보면, R&D가 일자리에 미치는 영향은 협력기업과 비협력기업에서 다르게 나타나고 있다. 중·저기술산업에서 R&D가 일자리에 미치는 영향은 협력기업의 경우 장·단기에 걸쳐 긍정적이지도 부정적이지도 않았지만, 비협력기업은 장기에서 긍정적 영향을 미치고 있었다. 첨단·고기술산업의 분석결과를 살펴보면 R&D가 일자리에 미치는 영향은 협력기업의 경우 장·단기에 걸쳐 일자리에 긍정적 영향을 미치고 있었지만, 비협력기업의 경우 장·단기 모두에 걸쳐 긍정적이지도 부정적이지도 않았다. 일자리에 부정적 영향을 미치는 크기효과는 모든 분석에서 나타나지 않았는데, 이는 분석대상이 규모가 작은 중소기업이기 때문에 나타난 결과로 추론된다.
Abstract
This research attempts to analysis what extend the R&D can cause impact on the job creation, based on the Survey of the Business Activities from 2006 to 2016 conducted by Korea Enterprise Data Ltd., and National Statistics. In this report, SMEs have been categorized as leading enterprises, primary cooperation enterprises, secondary cooperation enterprises and non-cooperation enterprises. Through the analysis, following results can be deducted. First, cooperation enterprises have caused positive impact on job creation through their R&D in long and short term, and non-cooperation enterprises also have shown long term positive impact of R&D on job creation. Second, thanks to the size effect, the number of jobs increases as the scale of R&D increases, and this has been observed from both primary and secondary enterprises. However, whilst primary cooperation enterprises show long term positive impact on job creation, but secondary enterprises cannot create any significant effects. Third, in terms of technology level, the impact of R&D on job creation illustrates different results on both cooperation enterprises and non-cooperation enterprises. In the low and medium tech industry sectors, the R&D of cooperation enterprises did not create any significant impacts on job creation through both short and long terms, however, the one of non-cooperation enterprises causes positive effects in the long term. In the observations from high tech industries, the R&D impact caused by cooperation enterprises shows positive, however, any positive and negative effect have not been observed from the one of non-cooperation companies. The size effect which causes negative impact on job creation has not been observed on all analysis, this is estimated that subjects of analysis consist of small scaled SMEs.
