부산지역금융시장에서 신용협동조합의 역할에 대한 실증적 분석

Abstract
The credit union did not start as a regional financial institute. But because it operates for the members in a small specified region it can have competitive advantages in its local community over other financial institutions. On this premise this paper takes an empirical test to verify empirically what functions a credit union plays in Pusan financial market. The results show that it supplies credits to regional households and small firms which have difficulties in accessing to a bank credit, chiefly due to their small size and financial opaqueness. This implies that it needs to be developed as a regional financial institute. This paper is the first that studies the roles of credit unions in the regional financial market.
