외국인 유학생의 안정적 지역 정착을 위한 방안- 충남 금산 소재 J대학 유학생 설문을 중심으로 -

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to suggest a way for foreign students, who are the preliminary resident population in the region, to settle down stably in the region after completing their studies. In order to explore ways to help foreign students settle down as members of the community, the survey contents were organized, investigated, and analyzed from two perspectives: ‘academic’ and ‘regional settlement’ for foreign students at J University located in Geumsan, Chungcheongnam-do. When looking at foreign students from the perspective of ‘academic’, they consider employment and residence qualifications as very important from the choice of major, and they want a lot of information about their employment and career path. From the perspective of ‘regional settlement’, foreign students recognized that Geumsan, the location of the university, is difficult to get a job due to a lack of jobs. Looking at these results, universities need to consistently provide information on employment to foreign students during their studies, and there is a need to make a lot of effort in the careers of international students. In addition, Geumsan, Chungcheongnam-do needs to be improved as a good place to get a job along with job creation, and efforts should be made from various perspectives, such as introducing corporate jobs for foreign students, strengthening internships, and developing corporate participatory field training programs in connection with local companies.
