초록

This study aimed to develop materials for strategic use of electronic dictionariesto assist Korean English language learners’ self-regulated writing based on theirneeds. Based on the analysis of survey results and dictionaries, the materials weredesigned to train Korean learners to use dictionaries efficiently in writing process. By suggesting problematic writing situations, this book guides learners to usewriting strategies by applying special features of various dictionaries. Problem-solving learning with strategies allow learners to increase theirknowledge of productive words, helping them be aware of the importance ofappropriate dictionary use to improve their writing. Above all, the materialspromote self-regulation of learners by providing practical instruction ofreferencing strategies. These materials can also be exploited as teaching resourcesfor English writing teachers.
