[연구목적]본 연구의 목적은 외부협력, 정부지원, 기업규모가 어떤 상호작용을 통해 혁신 관련 R&D 투자와 기업성과 간의 관계에 영향을 미치는지를 실증 분석하는 것이다. [연구방법]혁신 관련 R&D 투자와 기업성과 간의 관계에 영향을 미치는 요인인 외부협력, 정부지원, 기업규모의 상호조절효과를 종합적으로 조사하기 위하여 8개의 가설을 설정하였고, 이에 대한 분석을 위해 2018년도 기술혁신조사 자료와 SmartPLS 3.0 프로그램을 사용하였다. [연구결과]연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 혁신 관련 R&D 투자는 기업성과에 정(＋)의 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 외부협력은 R&D 투자와 기업성과 간의 관계에 영향을 미치지는 못하였다. 셋째, 정부지원은 R&D 투자와 기업성과 사이에 정(＋)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 기업규모는 R&D 투자와 기업성과 사이에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 외부협력과 기업규모, 정부지원과 기업규모, 외부협력과 정부지원은 R&D 투자와 기업성과 사이에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 여섯째, 외부협력, 정부지원, 기업규모의 상호작용은 R&D 투자와 기업성과 사이에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. [연구의 시사점]본 연구는 R&D 투자와 기업성과 간의 관계에 영향을 미치는 요인 각각에 대한 개별적인 분석이 아닌, 외부협력, 정부지원, 기업규모가 R&D 투자와 기업성과에 미치는 영향을 종합적으로 분석하였으며, 특히 외부협력, 정부지원, 기업규모의 상호작용을 통한 조절효과를 분석하였다는 것에 그 의의가 있다.
Abstract
[Purpose]The purpose of this study is to perform empirical analysis of the effects of external cooperation, government support, and firm size on R&D investments and corporate performance, and to explore related implications. [Methodology]To analyze the relationship between R&D investments and corporate performance, and their influencing factors, which are external cooperation, government support, and firm size, this study proposed and tested eight hypotheses. Data was utilized from the 2018 Korea Innovation Survey; the software used in the analysis was PLS 3.0. [Findings]The results showed that first, innovation－related R&D investments had a positive effect on corporate performance. Second, external cooperation had no influence on the relationship between R&D investments and corporate performance. Third, government support influenced the relationship between R&D investments and corporate performance. Fourth, firm size had an effect on the relationship between R&D investments and corporate performance. Fifth, the interaction between external cooperation and firm size, government support and firm size, and external cooperation and government support had an effect on the relationship between R&D investments and corporate performance. Sixth, the interaction among external cooperation, government support, and firm size had an effect on the relationship between R&D investments and corporate performance. [Implications]The significance of this study lies in conducting a comprehensive analysis of the effects of external cooperation, government support, and firm size on the relationship between R&D investments and corporate performance. It is especially meaningful in that it analyzed the interaction among external cooperation, government support, and firm size.
