Abstract

If the policy of multicultural families has focused on the settlement and maintenance of multicultural families, the key is to provide policy and institutional support to "lead stable families" in modern times. As such, we would like to take a look at policy measures such as laws, the status of the system and the policy implementation system in accordance with the goals of multicultural policies. Therefore, I would like to suggest the direction in which Korea's multicultural policies should move forward in the future. According to the analysis, multicultural family support centers are currently operated by local governments across the country to effectively achieve multicultural policy goals, and most multicultural support centers across the country have little budget and discretion in projects and are in a hurry to perform delegated tasks, making it difficult to find and provide customized regional characterization projects. As a way to improve the project, the government should reduce the portion of the basic budget and expand the function of the base center, and increase the effectiveness of the project by providing the budget in the form of comprehensive subsidies. It will also be necessary to provide more efficient services through links between public institutions such as schools and education offices and local specialized businesses to develop various programs for marriage immigrants and multicultural families. Measures to enhance the effectiveness of the Multicultural Family Support Center also need to be considered to strengthen the center's organizational capacity.
