한양도성은 조선시대 수도 한성으로, 지금은 서울특별시 종로구와 중구에 해당한다. 한양도성 내 유적(발굴)조사는 2000년 전까지는 궁궐에 대한 복원ㆍ정비를 위한 학술조사가 주를 이루었다, 2004년 ‘청진 6지구 재개발사업’에서 근ㆍ현대부터 조선 초기까지 6개의 문화층에서 관련 유구들이 층층이 확인되어, 이후 개발에 앞서 발굴조사를 실시하도록 하는 계기가 되었다. 2010년 서울특별시에서는 한양도성 내부 전역에 대한 지표조사를 공영제로 실시하게 되었고, 매장문화재조사는 급증하게 되었다. 한양도성의 중앙부를 서쪽에서 동쪽으로 가로질러 흐르는 청계천은 북쪽의 북악ㆍ낙산 등의 산악지대와 남쪽의 남산과의 지형적 경계이자, 현재 서울특별시 종로구와 중구의 행정경계이다. 청계천의 북쪽과 남쪽에는 산악지와 구릉지, 청계천 일대에는 충적지(곡간지)가 형성되어 있고, 이러한 지형적 특성에 따라 유적이 입지하는 것을 알 수 있었다.
Abstract
Seoul City Wall was the capital of the Joseon Dynasty, and is now located in Jongno-gu and Jung-gu, Seoul. Until 2000, the Seoul Metropolitan Government conducted an academic survey on the restoration and maintenance of the palace. In 2004, the relevant districts were identified at six cultural levels from modern and modern to early Joseon in order to conduct excavation research prior to the development. In 2010, the Seoul Metropolitan Government conducted a survey of the entire interior of Seoul City Wall as a public system, and the number of research on the cultural heritage of burial increased rapidly. Cheonggyecheon Stream, which flows from the west to the east of Seoul City Wall, is the geographical boundary between the mountains of Bukak and Naksan in the north and Namsan in the south and is currently the administrative boundary between Jongno-gu and Jung-gu in Seoul. In the north and south of Cheonggyecheon Stream, mountains, hills, and areas near Cheonggyecheon Stream are filled with vestiges (grains) and relics are located according to the geographical characteristics.
