대학 무전공 학생을 위한 교양교육의 발전 방안

초록

본 연구의 목적은 무전공 학생을 위한 교양교육의 발전방향을 제시하고, 대학이 무전공 학생의 전공 선택 과정을 효과적으로 지원할 수 있는 방안을 탐색하기 위해 진행되었다. 국내외 선행연구를 분석하여 세 가지 범주(자기 확신, 정보획득, 네트워크)와 각각의 필요 요소를 도출하고, 국내 26개 대학의 무전공 전용 교과 및 비교과 과정을 사례로 조사하였다. 분석 결과, 전공탐색 요소는 활발히 다뤄졌으나 학생 네트워크 요소는 부족했다. 사례 분석을 통해 진로 탐색 과정에서 직업정보 제공과 멘토링 프로그램의 중요성이 확인되었다. 본 연구는 무전공 학생의 학문적 몰입과 사회적 소속감을 증진시키는 교육과정 설계의 기초자료를 제공하며, 국내 대학의 체계적이고 지속적인 무전공 학생 지원체계 마련의 필요성을 강조하였다.

Abstract

This study aims to propose development strategies for liberal art education for undeclared students and explore ways in which universities can effectively support the major selection process for these students. By analyzing domestic and international studies, three categories (self-confidence, information acquisition, and network) and their necessary elements were identified. Using this framework, 26 Korean universities' curriculum and co-curricular programs were investigated. The analysis revealed that major search elements were well-developed, while student network elements were lacking. Case studies highlighted the importance of career information and mentoring programs in supporting students' decision-making processes. This study provides a foundation for designing curricula that enhance academic engagement and social belonging for undecided students and emphasizes the need for systematic and sustainable support systems in Korean universities.
